It All Started with a Notebook and a Pen

When my previous role came to an end, the first tool I reached for wasn't my laptop. It wasn't LinkedIn. It was my daughter's Grade 1 spelling notebook and a pencil.

In that simple, analog space, I gave myself permission to pause. I needed to stop scrolling and start looking closely at what I should carry forward, and what the next phase of my professional life could, and should, become.

In that notebook, I didn't write a business plan. I wrote a permission slip. I asked the three questions that felt essential to answer before I built anything new.

• What stays?
• What changes?
• What deserves more intention this time?

What stays is the clarity. It's the way I approach every project with structure and a genuine desire to understand the root of the problem.

What changes is where I direct my energy. I am choosing to focus on challenges that invite depth rather than just speed.

What deserves more intention is the people. It's the relationships I build, the conversations I invest in, and the trust that makes meaningful work possible.

Relaunching in Motion

The concept of The Narrative Lab wasn't a flash of lightning. It was a construction project. It emerged only after I clarified my own fundamentals.

• The Expertise: What I bring that is measurable and unique.
• The Impact: The specific dent I am motivated to make.
• The Environment: The structures where my clarity and execution thrive.

I have always been versatile, working across public, private, and mission-driven sectors. A "Lab" felt like the right container. It isn't a fixed box. It is a space that can grow with me, a place to test ideas, break down narratives, and make room for exploration.

Creating Real Connection

As I defined the structure, I also redefined how I connect. Big corporations rely on resources, but as I've written before, individuals have the "ability to create personal, meaningful connections".

I moved away from "networking for visibility" and toward connecting with purpose. I started listening more carefully. I stopped chasing reach and started chasing resonance. Some of those dialogues are already shaping a new content series I'm developing. The right conversations have a way of accelerating clarity faster than any framework ever could.

From Analog Clarity to Digital Speed

Here is the counter-intuitive truth. The speed of my relaunch was rooted in that initial slowness.

Because I took the time to write it down in pencil first, the digital execution happened fast. I didn't have to guess what I wanted to say. I had already written it.
